I just found this series, three books so far. I tore through all three in a long weekend. My only disappointment is that there is not another yet. Great world building , nicely written and fleshed out. Maurin isn't a moony love struck weak heroine. She's pretty kick ass but relatable. I am really looking forward to the next book.
I loved the first books but this one drops you off a cliff with a bang as an ending... I am disappointed, I did not realize I was buying a novella. Sigh
But a good story that opens several new avenues for real series novels. This was like a TV cliff hanger.
Overall, good story. Poor editing, however, was often distracting. When a totally wrong word is used in a sentence - 'waived' instead of 'waved' - it can pull me right out of the momentum of the action. And that's just one example of several. It seems almost like the book was dictated with a voice recognition software, and then very poorly proofed. There were incomplete sentences, and unfinished thoughts. Some of the characters are a little one-dimensional, but show potential - and I like the world that the author's built. Just needs a little more attention to detail, please!
Maurin Kincaide has a knack for finding trouble, or is it that trouble is always close at hand around her new job.
Maurin is caught between a rock and a hard place, her sister's wedding and her job with the council, oh and don't forget that hunky werewolf that challenged Roul, Cash.
This is an action packed adventure that has so many twists and turns that it leaves the reader worn out because you won't want to put this book down. It is definitely a great weekend read, for those stormy afternoons when there's nothing left to do.
I honestly find myself wanting more of this cast of characters. I've been drawn into their paranormal family and I can't wait to see what's going to happen next.
In the third installment of Maurine's life. Has her dealing with an alpha fight to the death . Her vampire leaving for Iceland . And trying to play nice at her sisters wedding . Maurine finds trouble at the. Death match where she is attacked. And cash saving her with wolfsbane. Now as the liaison she has to report back to the council. Where she is attacked yet again by a fae. She kicks ass in three inch heels . As she akes to her sisters wedding . Where Cash and Aiden show up as her plus one . This is an awesome read . It has you hooked from the very first page.
I recommend this book for anyone's summer reading list . Check it out you so won't be disappointed
In this 3rd book of The Maurin Kincaide series Crash goes after Roul who is the alpha over the wolf pack. Maurine who has to witness the fight gets attacked and once again Crash comes to the rescue with wolfsbane. When Maurine as the liaison has to report back to the council what she witnessed. She gets attacked again by the Fae. However she goes all bad ass and whips some major butt. In the mean time her bf Aiden is sent to Iceland and comes back in time for Maurine's sisters wedding to find Crash with her. With that being said I won't give any more spoilers.
I really loved this book it was a short read and to be honest I didn't expect some of the things that happened. As always the author keeps you guessing with the many twist and turns she has up her sleeve. It also gives you a little background of what Maurine's family and mother was like. This is an awesome book to read and I can't wait to read the next book in this series. This author is wonderful story teller. Keep up the amazing job.

This was some bs. The little action that happened was overshadowed w the cliffhanger ending. I don't mind a good cliffhanger but this one came out of nowhere. It seemed like there was more to the story.
I want to fully like this series but it always seems as if the author has no direction w the story. As if its just all thoughts written down and not fully fleshed out.
We finally get the alpha challenge but the sudden twist or insertion of Maurin's family is weird amd not even necessary. Then there are the changes in council which was definitely interesting but we were just given the appetizer amd no main course.
What upset me was we can tell something is wrong w Maurin but as soon as we get confirmation of this the book ends. This is not a book but a novella. BS!
